Book Review: Vishwas Mudagal_Losing My Religion

Vishwas Mudagal_Losing my Religion

“And so rock bottom became a solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life.” _J. K. Rowling

Our lives today are lived at a pace unprecedented in the history of mankind. We try to extract something out of every single moment, meaningful or not. Each one of us is in a race and honestly, most of us do not know where the finishing line is. Losing My Religion is the story of Rishi, one amongst the many of us, who believes in winning and is part of the same race which most of us are participating in, willingly or unwillingly.

The story really starts once Rishi hits rock bottom in life. Having struggled to keep it all together, he believes he has reached the nadir till the chance encounter with Alex takes him on a path which he could never have imagined himself. The journey of a man who lives his life with a plan along with a man who has no plans whatsoever, creates moments which are exciting, refreshing and downright crazy at times.

Just when life seems to start making sense, Kyra comes riding in and turns it upside down. The mysterious woman who refuses to leave Rishi’s mind also becomes his strongest pillar of strength. Together with Alex, the trio face their biggest challenge yet, in the game of business and life, in the form of a man who is willing to bend every single rule in the book to ensure that he wins.

As the reader travels with Rishi and Alex; life, love, despair and hope are all intertwined together in a tightly written, fast paced book which will keep those who like commercial pot-boilers hooked on till the last page. Vishwas has managed to weave a story that is dreamy yet realistic, and gives each one the hope and faith that life is never over if one is willing to face it.
