I was walking amidst the highrise buildings and the glass boxes, with nothing exciting to look at. Took a turn and there this beautiful building stood. I love the terracotta facade and the bold lines. Parks and plazas are an integral part of the Shanghai lifestyle. I missed out on the "people around the pond" photograph though. People are either singing or dancing or busking or sketching or doing calligraphy on the flooring with water or just plain chilling out. Today was a good day for my legs. Walked less than we did in the last three days...phew! Chanced upon this incredible group of seniors dancing in the the park, dressed to kill and totally enjoying themselves. I wasn't jealous at all, seriously. We also spotted a very neatly detailed yard hydrant screen wall, installed in a public plaza outside a mall. I can't fathom how the architect had the time to think of detailing such a mundane component! How many of you can literally eat an entire cuisine or be overloaded? Began with a walk down some interesting avenues leading up to the Jing'an Temple - what a contrast! Most of the day though, was spent staring, guessing, gesturing, using translation software, clicking photos of the menu to show and order, and discovering great food. Introduction A transitory life is what I have been living for a long time now. 2018 turned out to be exciting in its own way and brought about one of those "life changing" pause phases. One thing lead to another and in March 2019, we moved to Shanghai. Quite honestly, we had never ever thought that we will live in China, of all places on the planet. Late 2017 was the time when I stopped using Facebook actively, "un"friending and hibernating. I also deleted my Instagram account. When Shanghai happened, I decided to start a new Instagram account, as a photo journal, to catalogue this new world.
