Visions & Delusions

There comes a time in one`s life when the futility of servitude seems so painfully evident that one cannot but think why or what is the reason one should endure it any longer. There comes a time when the safety and security of the present seems meaningless compared to the gains of what lies ahead, if only one chooses to take the road not taken. However, we can safely say that it is not something that everyone wants or can do. While the returns are immense, not everyone is capable enough to cross over to the other side of the table BUT what if the life on this side shows no signs of a better tomorrow apart from the monetary security if offers?

There is an entire world out there which is waiting to be explored given that one has the appetite for risk and the willingness to move out of one`s comfort zone. How many of us are ready to do that? Not many, I can assure you. Why not, you may ask. Let`s put it this way, some know their limitations, some are not sure if that`s what they are made for and some are pure careless or lazy to grab the opportunity that is theirs for the taking! Long years ago (from my perspective) there was an attempt to break free. The platform was there, the opportunity was there and most importantly, the required quantity of recklessness was there. With all these ingredients in place, what was that one thing which didn`t let it work? A long debated and thought of question indeed.

Be as it may, the one thing that hasn`t changed and probably never will is the desire - no, the need - to break free and surge ahead, with wings spread open, into the great blue. Time and again, this need raises its head and if analysed, is triggered most when faced with conceited, unreasonable demands of the daily grind. Why must one exploit to feel superior? Or is it the need to assert one`s position over another human being just to get a false sense of satisfaction? Why must one pretend to be considerate when eventually, you intend to orchestrate a slimy act just to get a false sense of superiority? Aren`t we all humans with our rights? Why must we feel the need to know that we can compel another person to satisfy our own hollow pride?

Reason seems to be as meaningless as consideration. If one cannot respect another human being for what he or she is, I believe, you have no right to be so condescending. In fact, if one looks deep inside, acts as underhanded as the one`s I am talking about are plainly the result of a deeply fragmented and disturbed mind. It is a result of years of a highly fermented inferiority complex which has now become so poisonous that it clouds one`s judgement and the basic sense of what`s right from wrong - for all one can see is a world veiled by the darkness within one`s own heart and soul.

That familiar tug inside is a little stronger than usual and in a way, it is a now-or-never situation. Can it happen is the question. To sit on a grand vision of tomorrow is one thing and to put it into practice is completely different. The time to act is NOW! Before the opportunity passes by and leaves us mere spectators in the race (as unfortunate a word as it is), it`s time to shake off that lethargy, it`s time to stop dreaming and talking big, it`s time to swing into action and to do our bit instead of making excuses. It is time to stop making excuses for our sorry existence.

It is time...to start living...
