Behind These Eyes

eyes they see, eyes they are clear. eyes that believe, yet shed a tear. eyes they hear; a maid, a pauper and someone dear. of stories that become tales and epics they fear behind these eyes; lay darkness untouched, untold. wishing someday, some light will make them shine like gold. some old, some new; some black, some blue but none fail to define, and none have a clue for what eyes may feel; grope, search and kneel oceans of changes about to reveal eyes meet, eyes greet; a strange love unfolds. thats when joy springs out the tears they can't hold. - a beautiful piece from my little bundle of joy...

5 Euro Coin by the Dutch

Image
The design of a new commemorative 5 Euro coin [pythonide.blogspot.com], also called the The Architecture Fiver , based on the subject 'Netherlands and Architecture'. In the design of artist Stani Michiels , the portrait of the Dutch Queen Beatrix is constructed with names of important Dutch architects. On the outside the names are clearly readable, while they slowly get smaller to the center. The back side of the coin is designed as a book shelve shelf. The books rise as buildings towards the center. Through their careful placement they combine to outline the Netherlands, while birds' silhouettes suggest the geographical location of the capitals of all the provinces.

Terrorised City

Every time I looked at the TV, I could see more violence. Reports kept pouring in about more bodies being brought out and the counter terrorist operation continuing. I read the papers everyday and watched the news as much as possible to try and understand exactly what the people labelled as terrorists wanted from us? As the operation eventually came to an end and all the hotels and Nariman House were declared safe, I realised that we had won something but lost something else. No it's not the bodies of the Forces or Police or innocent civilians that I am talking about nor the lone captured terrorist or the others killed. The attacks were, as everyone agrees, minutely planned with extended recon operations conducted at all the locations. Some papers said that a couple of them had taken up jobs to get unlimited access to the hotels while others said that some had come in guests and stashed up on ammunition and supplies. Some said that there was immense local help and some said th...

“If you are not the part of the solution, you are the part of the problem.”

Winning entry for the Article Writing Contest at NICMAR, Pune| September 2008 The world consists of three kinds of people; a very small percentage of realists, a fairly large percentage of optimists and a very generous dose of pessimists. The optimists should be the ones giving this world the right direction but most go to the extreme of becoming daydreamers. In this great mix, we realise that more often than not, we come face to face with the third type of people. While the way to success is by pushing each other higher, the world is fraught with the risk of being pulled down by the pessimists. Any interaction being two human beings is bound to run into a problematic situation. It could be a small misunderstanding or a major fight. When we scale up this situation to a large organisation, the problems multiply too. It is this sort of an environment where the need for an optimist is felt most and is denied the most. It is human nature to stand on the sidelines and point out d...
